Lots of Listings Day! Rae Dunn, Travel Bags, and More!

Today has been a very productive day for listings. I’ve been focusing on eBay today, since I’ve got a 200 free listings promo on my selling account and I need to take advantage of those before they expire in a couple of days.

I am excited to share with you a few of the fun and useful things I was able to source this last week.

Rae Dunn Paper Plates and Napkins

Did you know Rae Dunn has paper plates too? I always stayed away from it because I’m scared of breaking in transit, but paper is much less likely to break on the way. Aren’t they cute? These would be perfect for family picnics and parties.

Travelon Packing Squares

If I have a weakness, it’s organizer bags. And after watching Marie Kondo’s show, I just may keep one set for myself. These are great for house organizing, purse or backpack, crafts, etc. So versatile.

Disney Beauty and the Beast Figures

These were something I’m not entirely sure about for reselling. It can be hard to find the right buyers for collectible toys, but the price was too good to pass on. I haven’t even seen the Emma Watson version of the film.

Bic Razors

Alright, so this one is kind of funny, take a look at these razors and tell me if you can spot the the difference:

Do you see it? The two packages cost different amounts and while I was in the store I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why. I finally saw it when I got them home to take photos and list. It turns out the razor handle and lades are almost identical, but one pack has 4 cartridges and the other has 5! It was the “5 flexible blades” that threw me off. Oh well, they are both listed!

Want to shop for these and more? Check out my eBay store!

Jumping into that Full-time Reseller Life

After some careful contemplations, I have decided to focus full time on Archaeo-Chic! I’ve spent about 6 months of part-time side hustling, and it just makes me so happy I figured why not continue? This means I will be much more active on this blog and my socials, so stay tuned!

Three Steps Forward and One Back: Completing the Steps to Becoming a Poshmark Ambassador

If you are looking for information on how to become a Poshmark Ambassador, you can find the list of qualifications in this post here.

I finally reached my goal of becoming a Poshmark Ambassador! I ended up being a bit late in my goal of when I reached it because I always underestimate how much time it takes to list and share. Also, there was a couple of times where I made sales from my closet and that changed my stats.

One moment I would think I was about to hit another level on the Poshmark ambassador goal list, but then I would make sales and those stats would change! For example, I hit 50 listings, but then I would sell some things either on Poshmark, or on another platform and so I would need to delete those active listings, bringing me below 50.
Obviously, getting that small setback to my goal seemed frustrating at first, but the whole point of me aiming toward becoming a Poshmark ambassador was to make more sales. Regardless of whether I was hitting the status or not, I was doing what I set out to do. If it’s the journey makes that happen, that’s alright with me! The destination isn’t really what matters, after all.

Are you a Poshmark Ambassador? How long did it take you, and do you think it was worth the work?

Places to Sell Your Stuff Online: Depop

Since I’m selling on multiple platforms right now, it’s important for me to spend my time wisely. I took time to revise my Depop shop this week. Depop was actually the first platform I used for selling, and I started there as a buyer.

What I like about Depop:

You can post video! This is great for really showing the special features or issues with an item.

Shipping is reasonable for small items, and you can choose your own shipping costs. You have the option to ship with Depop for flat fees, or organize your own shipping. You can also ship Internationally. By choosing your own shipping.

What I think could be better:

I would love to be able to post more than 4 photos. Some items really ask for more than a few angles, and I also like to include pictures of tags.

Bundles are a thing on Depop, but these still have to be requested and listed as custom orders which is labor intensive for both buyers and sellers

What’s have I sold in my Depop shop?

Feedback from Happy Shoppers

What’s for Sale in My Depop shop?

Right now, I have only been listing smaller items in my shop like jewelry and accessories. This is because of shipping costs. With the small size shipping at $4.50, I am able to offer free shipping to my customers occasionally. While I can provide the shipping for everything, I like being able to offer the Free Ship across all items I have listed in Depop and it just wasn’t economical to keep all of the clothing stocked. I may change my mind and list more broadly in the future, but for now, this works for me.

Thank you for reading, have a wonderful day!

Is It Worth It? Let Me Work It: The Poshmark Ambassador Program

I’ve been selling on Poshmark for a few weeks now, and one thing I am considering working towards is becoming an ambassador. At first, I didn’t give too much thought to it since I was only listing a few items, but now that I want to grow my closet I think it is something to work toward.

What is the Poshmark Ambassador Program?

The Poshmark ambassador program focuses heavily on the community goals of Poshmark. Along with listing and selling, users are asked to share listing for other Poshers. According to the Poshmark blog, ambassadors are expected to “set the tone” in the community, by keeping active and providing good customer service.

Why should I consider working toward the program?

Many Poshers ask if this program is worth it. The main reason to join is that you will be put into a suggested user rotation. This should help your Poshmark closet gain exposure. Some Poshers have claimed that they have fewer sales after joining the program, but since Poshmark makes a profit off each sale, it doesn’t make sense that they would hide listings.

Steps to Becoming a Poshmark Ambassador:

In order to achieve ambassador status, Poshers need to complete a list of minimum community tasks. These are:

  • A minimum of 5000 Community Shares and 5000 Self-Shares.
  • A minimum of 50 Available Listings
  • A minimum of 15 Sold Listings
  • Average Purchase Rating must be 4.5 stars or greater on average
  • Average Ship Time must be less than 3 days on average
  • You also have to give at least one love note, which means review a purchase you have through on Poshmark.

My Poshmark Ambassador Status:

My Poshmark Ambassador Stats as of December 6

Looking at my Posh Stats, I am currently 72% finished with the program requirements. I Still need to do a lot of community and self-closet sharing and list 25 more items in my closet (or more I suppose if I make some sales!). I don’t know how long this will take me, but I think trying to get it by the end of December is a decent goal. Wish me luck!

The Multiple Places where I Sell Online: eBay, Mercari, Poshmark, and Depop

I’ve been reselling online for a little under 6 months. I started with things I wasn’t going to keep when I moved across the US, and now I do some additional sourcing along with that regular purging.

I am currently using 4 main platforms for my selling. I use eBay, Mercari, Poshmark, and Depop. Some items I will crosspost on different platforms because they tend to attract different types of shoppers, and the shipping costs can vary between platforms.

Selling on multiple platforms can be a bit of extra work, but I have found it to be worth it many times. You never know where people are looking for things online.

If you are a reseller too, I’d love to hear about your experiences with these and other platforms. Feel free to leave me a note in the comments below this post!

My First Week on Poshmark

After a while of contemplation, I decided to move some of my Depop listings to Poshmark, to see how they might do. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast things can move (although they do have a higher seller fee than eBay and Depop).

After my first week, I can see why it’s so popular. I sold 10 items from my closet, one of which is being returned (so really 9 sales in total).

Here is a look at my first week states from November 11-18, 2018:
